About Me
I never expected to have a career as a missionary. I was born just outside London, and even though we moved to a culturally Christian area in the U.S. when I was young, my knowledge of anything having to do with Christianity was virtually non-existent until I was in high school. My family had never been particularly “religious,” and so in some ways it’s a little strange that I’ve ended up doing what I’m doing.
Like many others, I came to faith through friends who pointed me to Christ. Starting in high school, I began an exploration of the Christian faith that ultimately led to me fully committing my life to Christ during the fall of my freshman year of college. I attended UMass-Amherst, graduating with a Communications degree in 2004. It was in college that I not only learned about spiritual disciplines and some of the basics of the Christian life, but also started to experience the vast changes that came from reorienting my life to kingdom values. As soon as I began experiencing a relationship with God, I wanted everyone I cared about to be able to have that, too. When I graduated, I knew God was calling me into full-time ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ.
I joined staff with Campus Crusade in July 2004. After raising my initial financial support, I reported to the University of New Hampshire, where I ministered for four years. My last year in New Hampshire I also served with our regional operations team in Boston, designing ways to resource staff and students on campuses throughout New England and New York.
In August of 2009, I packed up my little Honda Civic and drove down to Orlando, Florida, to participate in a year-long development opportunity called Lake Hart Stint. Lake Hart is the site of our international ministry headquarters. Toward the end of that year, I decided to stay in Orlando and was offered a role on the Global Student-Led Movements Team.
