The Ministry
The campus environment is truly a unique place for ministry. It is a place where ideas are generated and discussed, where lifelong beliefs and habits are developed and then cemented. It is a place of exploration and uncertainty. The college years are a time when some students choose to walk away from their faith and others discover God for the first time. It’s a time when young adults are either embracing or rejecting their responsibilities for themselves and to those around them. Into this environment we want to bring the hope of Christ, to give students a solid foundation upon which they can build their lives.
The mission statement of the campus ministry is to “turn lost students into Christ-centered laborers.” We desire for students to experience deep and lasting transformation in the way that they think, relate, work, and worship, that they might begin a new life in Christ and fully grow into their identities as members of the body of Christ and as the spiritual leaders of tomorrow.
Though the campus ministry began in the U.S., it has not stayed there. God is continuing to raise up a new generation of ambassadors from nations around the world, and increasingly the center of global Christianity is moving from the north and west to the south and east. We still believe that college students are uniquely poised to help fulfill the Great Commission and to “building spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.”
